3 Year Old Program
- Meets Tuesday and Thursday
- 1/2 day only: 8:20 a.m.-11:30 a.m. or full day only: 8:20 a.m.-3:20 p.m.
- Eligible students need to be three years old and fully toilet trained by September 1, 2024
We Focus On:- Identifying and understanding emotions within ourselves
- Beginning to self-regulate and maintain self-control
- Developing independence for self-care at an appropriate level
- Growth of both fine and gross motor skills and abilities
- Making the Sign of the Cross and reciting simple prayers
- Being able to:
- Recognize first names and the letters that correspond with it
- Identify shapes, colors, and basic patterns
- Count to 10
PK3 Early Childhood Curriculum

4 Year Old Program
- Meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
- Full day option: 8:20 a.m.-3:20 p.m.
- 1/2 day option: 8:20 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
- Eligible students need to be 4 yrs old and fully toilet trained by Sept. 1, 2024
- Hot Lunch is available to full day children
We Focus On:- Identifying and understanding emotions within ourselves and others
- Beginning to navigate social situations with peers
- Self-regulation and maintaining self-control
- Developing independence for self-care at an appropriate level
- Growth of both fine and gross motor skills and abilities
- Making the Sign of the Cross and reciting simple prayers
- Being able to:
- Recognize and write letters and numbers
- Identify shapes, colors, and patterns
- Count to 20 rotely, 1:1 counting
PK4 Early Childhood Curriculum

Young 5's Program
- Meets Monday-Friday
- Full day option only: 8:20 a.m.-3:20 p.m.
- Students must turn 5 years old between May 1st and December 1st of that school year.
- Students must be eligible to attend OLV Kindergarten (5 years of age on or before September 1st) in order to qualify for Young 5s without a teacher recommendation.
- Teacher recommendations will be required for non-Kindergarten eligible students based on their needs (5 years of age between September 2 and December 1) and program eligibility.
- Open spaces will first be given to students that are of Kindergarten age.
- Must be fully toilet trained.
- Hot lunch is available.

- Show an interest in application of early Kindergarten skills
- Being able to:
- Recognize and write letters, numbers, and shapes
- Identify colors and patterns with increased variables
- Count to 20 rotely, 1:1 counting
Young 5s Early Childhood Curriculum- Young 5s is a bridge between PK4 and Kindergarten.
- Young 5s follows a similar curriculum as PK4, just more in-depth and with extra opportunities for exploration and deeper thinking.

Our program follows the Early Childhood Standards of Quality for the state of Michigan. We strive to incorporate learning through thoughtful play, multi-age collaboration, and a developmentally-designed curriculum. We focus on the growth of the child as a whole through social, physical, emotional, and academic facets. We work to develop healthy social skills, language development and early writing, math concepts, and investigative skills. Most importantly, our Catholic faith is woven into everything that we do using the Archdiocese of Detroit's religion curriculum goals.
Extended School Program (aka Latchkey) is not available to preschool students.

Teacher Information
- Mrs. Kristina Knurek is the director and lead teacher for the Three and Four year old classroom. Mrs. Knurek holds a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ZA), as well as Elementary Education (K-8). In addition, she is certified in Social Studies (RX), Language Arts (BX) K-8, and holds her Master's in Educational Administration.
- Mrs. Staff is the teacher for the Young 5’s classroom. Mrs. Staff holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ZA), as well as Elementary Education (K-8). In addition she holds a Masters in Early Childhood as well.
Mrs. Jaclyn Anderson, Mrs. Sara Oakleaf, and Mrs. Krystal Strasser serve as the teacher’s aides in order to maximize your child’s preschool experience. All were former classroom teachers and have stepped back to enjoy the perfect world of classroom life.

Yes, all children must be fully potty trained before they will be accepted into the preschool program.

Children learn through hands-on, engaging activities designed to meet them at their individual levels. They learn through centers, whole group instruction (circle time), partner work, and one-on-one with an adult.
